Lowering The Numbers: NumbersUSA And The Inadequacies, Failures, and Consequences of America's (and Canada's) Immigration System.

A reader brought this video to my attention a while back. It is very good and the presentation was conducted by an American immigration reform group that calls itself NumbersUSA. Our goal of lower immigration targets for our respective countries is the same and so I've added them to my links.

The facts, figures, and arguments presented in the video relate specifically to the United States but much of it can be applied to Canada as well since Canada accepts more immigrants per capita than the United States does with calls for increasing the numbers even higher.

Topics Include:
The inadequacy of the immigration system as a humanitarian program; immigration and the erosion of the middle class and the rollback of economic gains made by African Americans; and immigration and the environment.

I've just discovered another Canadian blog that appears to speak on behalf of Canada.

Here's a sampling.

Downtown Toronto Commuters Can Expect Bad Start To Week Monday Thanks To Tamil Community

March 16th, 2009 – 4 Comments

Here we go again.

Members of Toronto’s Tamil community, and their supporters, are going to tie up downtown traffic for 5 hours on Monday.

How effin’ sweet is that going to be for Toronto commuters?

The terrorist loving protesters plan to form a human chain that will block several downtown thoroughfares between the hours of 1pm and 6pm Monday afternoon in what they claim is a vigil to protest attacks by the Sri Lankan military on Tamils in that country’s civil war.

There is no word on whether or not they are going to offer up a minute silence for those lives lost thanks to a Tamil Tiger suicide bomber last week though.

This kind of nonsense has to be stopped.

The Toronto Tamil community, which actively raises money for the terrorist organization Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, needs to be reined in before the shit hits the fan.

How long does anybody think it is going to be before anti-Tamil groups start taking to the streets and do a little protesting of their own, perhaps using their fists and their feet to make their point.

The bubble is going to burst, and when it does, the response by those who have had enough of the Tamil BS is going result in a whole lot of violence, and when all is said and done, many Tamils will be left bleeding in the street, nursing bumps and bruises and broken bones.

It is not a matter of if, but when, and it will not be the Sinhalese using Tamils as punching bags either.

It will be the beer loving “I am Canadian” kind of guys who are busting their asses in downtown Toronto to make a living who will take matters into their own hands when it comes to taking the Tamil community down a peg.

If the municipal authorities are not going to do anything about it, then somebody has to pick up the slack, and it will get ugly.

The Tamil community, in my opinion anyway, needs to start looking over their shoulder, watching their backs. They are pissing off a lot people.

I am not the only Canadian who feels this way about the BS the Tamils are bringing onto Canadian soil.

It wouldn’t be a stretch to assume that somewhere in Toronto, and perhaps beyond city limits that, there are people who are waiting for the right moment to take the world’s largest Tamil community down, and when that day arrives, life in Canada for Tamils isn’t going to be so sweet anymore.

Toronto authorities, the ones that have the power to limit the number of protests by any one group, like the Tamils for example, need to shut this kind of nonsense down.

City officials need to get their shit together and start limiting the number of protests the Tamils can have. For eff sakes man, they just had one in January, two months ago.

Their message does not change with each protest, it is the same one over, and over again.

Canadians get their message already, but it would appear that the Tamils are not getting the message that Canada does not care, that it is not Canada’s problem.

They should be protesting in front of the Liberal Party of Canada’s headquarters by the way, after all, it’s the Liberals who willingly kiss their ass.

Maybe if the Tamil community stopped raising money for the LTTE, the Canadian government and Canadians would feel a little different about ,and towards their cause.

If Tamils have their heart set on helping out the Tamil community in Sri Lanka, then maybe they should pack up their effin’ bags and get the eff back over there instead of disrupting the day to day life in Toronto with their BS.

I feel bad for tomorrow afternoon’s Toronto commuters, and while I won’t encourage those commuters to open up a can of Canadian whoop ass on the Tamils who congregate on Front St., Yonge St., to Bloor St., and west to University Ave. back to Front St., I won’t think anything less of them if in a moment of frustration they happen to smack a few of the protesters around.

Thanks for the link. The blog looks interesting. I'll check it out often.

I saw the news reports on TV and it appears Canadians are more irritated than curious or concerned. If the Tamils keep it then the only thing they will accomplish is getting on people's nerves.
